An Oklahoma youth baseball squad has been removed from the Southwest regional tournament after officials discovered a player on the roster did not meet eligibility requirements. The Tulsa National team, which had earned its place through district and state competition, was stripped of its berth just days before the event was set to begin.
This marks the second time in three weeks that a Tulsa National squad has been pulled from a regional competition. Earlier in the month, a different age group from the same organization faced a similar fate, also tied to a roster issue. Little League International confirmed the latest decision on Tuesday, stating that the player in question had not been properly registered or had participated in games while ineligible under league rules.
The team's coaching staff and parents were informed of the ruling in a brief meeting. No appeal has been filed, and the organization has not issued a public statement beyond acknowledging the decision. The Southwest regional will now proceed with the remaining qualified teams, and a replacement squad will be selected based on the next highest finish in the state tournament.
The repeated violations have raised questions about oversight within the Tulsa National program. League officials have said they are reviewing internal procedures to prevent further issues. For the players, the news is a bitter end to a season that had promised a shot at a national title.
