Vikings Running Back Jordan Mason Back at Full Participation in Practice

October 23, 2026 - 02:41

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason was a full participant in the team's latest practice session, a positive sign for a backfield that has been managing his workload carefully in recent weeks.

Mason, who joined Minnesota during the offseason, has been dealing with a nagging injury that limited him in earlier sessions. His return to full participation suggests the training staff is comfortable with his recovery, and it opens the door for him to take on a larger role in the offense moving forward.

The Vikings have leaned on a committee approach at running back so far, but Mason's combination of size and burst gives him a chance to separate himself from the pack. Coaches have praised his vision and his ability to break tackles between the tackles, traits that fit well with the team's zone-heavy running scheme.

Full practice status does not guarantee a heavy snap count on game day, but it removes a significant hurdle. The team will continue to monitor his condition, and his availability for the upcoming matchup will depend on how his body responds to the increased workload.

For a Minnesota offense still searching for consistency on the ground, Mason's healthy return comes at a welcome time. If he can stay on the field, he figures to be a meaningful part of the game plan down the stretch.
