Outfielders Dasan Harris, Jason Walk among those returning to OU following MLB Draft

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma baseball program received a boost this week as two key outfielders, Dasan Harris and Jason Walk, have decided to return to the Sooners for their senior seasons. Both players were selected in the recent Major League Baseball Draft but chose not to sign professional contracts, opting instead to remain in college.

Harris, a speedy left-handed hitter, appeared in 45 games last season, batting .287 with 12 stolen bases and solid defensive play in center field. Walk, a powerful right-handed bat, started 38 games in right field and posted a .301 average with eight home runs and 34 RBIs. Their return adds experienced depth to an outfield that lost several players to graduation and the draft.

Head coach Skip Johnson expressed excitement about having both players back in the lineup. "Dasan and Jason are leaders on and off the field," Johnson said. "Their decision to come back shows their commitment to this program and their desire to finish what they started."

The Sooners are coming off a season that ended in the NCAA Tournament regional round. With Harris and Walk anchoring the outfield, the team hopes to make a deeper postseason run in 2025. Both players are expected to compete for starting roles when fall practice begins in September.
