Manchester City 3-0 Brentford: What Andrews said

Brentford manager Keith Andrews expressed disappointment after his side fell 3-0 to Manchester City, despite a brave approach to the match. Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Andrews acknowledged the quality of the opposition but felt his team could have done more.

"We are disappointed. We were quite brave in the way we approached the game," Andrews said. "You could see from Manchester City's urgency what's at stake for them. They pressed us hard from the first whistle, and we struggled to find our rhythm."

The defeat leaves Brentford searching for answers after a tough outing at the Etihad. Andrews praised his players for their effort but admitted that City's relentless pressure proved too much. "We had moments where we could have caused them problems, but we didn't take them. Against a team like that, you have to be perfect, and we were far from it."

City dominated possession and created numerous chances, with goals from Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne sealing the win. Andrews noted that his side's defensive lapses were costly. "We gave away soft goals. At this level, you cannot afford to switch off for a second."

Despite the loss, Andrews remained focused on the bigger picture. "We have to learn from this and move on. The season is long, and we will bounce back."
