Former Commissioner Hopes to See Brewers Finally Win a Title

Former Commissioner Hopes to See Brewers Finally Win a Title

Bud Selig, the former owner of the Milwaukee Brewers and former commissioner of Major League Baseball, said he hopes this season is finally the one that brings a championship to Milwaukee. Selig, who turns 92 this year, attended his first game of the season and took part in the first-pitch ceremony before the crowd.

Selig has been one of the most recognizable figures in the sport for decades. He owned the Brewers before taking over as commissioner in 1992, a role he held until 2015. Throughout his time in baseball, he has often spoken about his attachment to the franchise and the city.

The Brewers have come close to a title in recent years, reaching the postseason several times but falling short of a World Series appearance. Selig said watching the team compete at a high level has kept his hope alive, and he believes the current roster has the talent to make a deep run.

He described the atmosphere at the ballpark as energetic and said the fans deserve a championship after years of support. Selig added that he plans to attend more games as the season progresses and will be following the team closely. For him, a Brewers title would be a personal milestone as much as a civic one, capping a long connection to the club he once owned.
