Eagles training camp observations: Elijah Moore making roster push

Day 10 of Eagles training camp in 2026 brought another round of competitive drills, and the biggest story continues to be the emergence of veteran receiver Elijah Moore. Signed to a low-cost deal this offseason, Moore was expected to provide depth, but he is now pushing hard for a guaranteed roster spot and meaningful snaps.

Moore has been consistently open during team periods, showing sharp route running and reliable hands. On Tuesday, he made the play of the day, a sliding catch on a deep out route from quarterback Jalen Hurts, beating rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell in coverage. Moore followed that up with a crisp slant touchdown during red zone work. His quickness off the line has been a problem for the Eagles' young defensive backs all week.

The coaching staff has taken notice. Moore has been getting first-team reps in three-receiver sets, splitting time with the expected starters. While A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith remain locked in, the third receiver spot is wide open. Moore's competition includes second-year player Johnny Wilson and free agent addition Parris Campbell. But Moore's experience and precise route tree seem to give him an edge.

Defensively, the day was quieter. The front seven won most of the early run drills, with defensive tackle Jordan Davis looking particularly disruptive. The secondary had a few breakdowns in zone coverage, but safety Reed Blankenship made a nice breakup in the end zone to end practice.

Special teams also got work, with kicker Jake Elliott going six for seven on field goals, missing only a long attempt from 58 yards. The team will hold a walkthrough tomorrow before a padded practice on Thursday. Moore's continued strong performance will be worth watching as the competition heats up.
