Christian Braun Opens Up About Peyton Watson’s Nuggets Departure

Christian Braun made it clear that Peyton Watson's departure from Denver will not change the close relationship they built over four seasons. In a recent interview, Braun opened up about what it means to lose a teammate who had become more like a brother during their time together with the Nuggets.

Braun spoke about the bond they formed from the moment they both joined the team, coming up through the ranks and pushing each other in practice every day. He said that Watson's energy and defensive intensity were things he could always count on, and that even though Watson is now heading to a different franchise, the connection they share goes beyond the court.

The two players spent countless hours working on their games after official practices ended, often staying late to run extra drills and challenge each other in one-on-one matchups. Braun noted that those moments helped both of them grow as professionals and made them better prepared for the opportunities they now have.

When asked if the trade changes anything about how he approaches the upcoming season, Braun shook his head and smiled. He said that basketball is a business and players understand that moves happen, but the friendships formed along the way are what last. He added that he has already talked to Watson since the news broke and that they plan to stay in touch throughout the year.

Braun also mentioned that he is excited to see Watson get a bigger role with his new team, believing that Watson has the talent and work ethic to thrive in a new environment. He said that fans in Denver will always remember Watson's hustle plays and his willingness to do the dirty work that does not always show up in the box score.

For Braun, the focus now shifts to the season ahead, but he made it clear that Watson will always be part of the Nuggets family in his eyes. He ended by saying that the door is always open for Watson to come back and visit, and that their bond will not fade just because they wear different jerseys now.
